Every year the green roof and wall industry recognizes exceptional integrated design and installation through the CitiesAlive® Green Roof & Wall Awards of Excellence. This is the only awards program dedicated to innovative green roof and wall projects and is designed to celebrate the creative and technical advancements the industry continues to make. CitiesAliveAwards of Excellence also recognizes outstanding individual contributions to the industry in research, policy, and corporate leadership.
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s Bill Retzlaff, PhD, professor in the Department of Biological Sciences and associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, has joined a prestigious group of tenured faculty members, earning the University’s highest academic rank of Distinguished Research Professor.

CitiesAlive (citiesalive.org) makes its way back to the west coast, taking place in Seattle on September 18-21, 2017. The conference is seeking regional content from the Cascadia region as well as innovative research, design, and policy proposals from across North America.
