Devens Enterprise Commission Wins GRHC Corporate Member Legacy Award For Its Outstanding Support of the Green Roof and Wall Industry

Green Roofs for Healthy Cities (GRHC) is excited to announce a new award tailored to companies and non-profit organizations that have generously provided long standing support for the green roof and wall industry over the years, the GRHC Corporate Member Legacy Award!

The purpose of the Corporate Member Legacy Award is to show our gratitude to the companies and non-profits that have been by our side to support the advancement of the green roof and wall industries. This award is given to long-standing corporate and non-profit members who have continuously supported GRHC and its industry building activities for at least ten years.   We are excited and proud to be presenting this award to Devens Enterprise Commission on October 18 at CitiesAlive in Philadelphia.

“Devens has been a pioneer in the development of innovative policies that support green roofs and walls as the successfully redevelop this old military base,” said Steven W. Peck, GRP, Honorary ASLA, Founder and President, GRHC.

Devens Chairman William P Marshall stated, “The Commission is proud to support green roofs across North America. We want to thank Mr. Lowitt for his service to the Commissioners and to helping create green roof policies for Devens and the wider community.”

Devens Enterprise Commission

The Devens Enterprise Commission (DEC) is the regulatory and permitting authority for the community. Its role is to administer and enforce the reuse plan, bylaws, regulations, and sustainability vision. The commission functions as a board of health, conservation commission, zoning board of appeals, historic district commission, and planning board.

The DEC recently coordinated the production of the Devens Forward Climate Action and Resiliency Plan, a collaboration between staff, community members, and outside experts that addresses how to build resilience against growing climate change impacts in Devens.  For more information visit: www.devenscommunity.com
