Green Roofs for Healthy Cities Announces Free Green Infrastructure Virtual Policy Symposium on May 25, 2023

Green Roofs for Healthy Cities is excited to announce the Free Green Infrastructure Virtual Policy Symposium on May 25 from 12pm - 3pm EST. Join us to learn from a variety of North American policy makers about how to administer transformative policy to create a more resilient future with green infrastructure. The policy symposium is designed for policy makers and advocates. The symposium is currently pending approval for: 2 AIA, ASLA & GRP CEUs. Register now!

Although green roofs have had a slow adoption as a standard roofing option due to high costs in designs and installation, they nonetheless are cost effective in terms of long-term savings. Cities have also implemented incentive programs to benefit from low-cost financing to cover the upfront premium costs.

Expert speakers include:

  • Steven W. Peck, GRP, HASLA, Founder & President of Green Roofs for Healthy Cities, will provide an overview of Green Roof Policies in North America.

  • Peter Lowitt, FAICP, Director of the Devens Enterprise Commission, will discuss Devens' Green Roof Policy.

  • Jeff Joslin, previously Green Building Coordinator and as Director of Neighborhood Planning for San Francisco, will talk about San Francisco's Better Roof Ordinance.

  • Liz Morris, CDT, GRP, President of Green Up Roofing, will present on Green Roof Policy Development and how Portland created a Green Roof Mandate through grassroots efforts.

Register for this free symposium today, and see the full agenda here
