In Memoriam: Mark Eldridge, AICP
GRHC is sad to announce that Mark Eldridge, AICP, senior planner and GRP, passed away on December 27, 2021. Mark was the former Planning Director for Burlington, Vermont a noted climate activist. He won the Civic Award of Excellence for his green roof policy work in Burlington, Vermont in 2012, and was bestowed this honor at Cities Alive Conference in Chicago.
“Mark was a good friend and having heard him speak on planning and green roof policy at the American Planning Association’s annual conference in 2009, he engaged full throttle, as was his want”, said Peter Lowitt, Past Chair, GRHC.
Soon after Mark became a Green Roof Professional (GRP) and his family thought that fact important enough to include in his obituary.
He was seventy-eight when he passed. He will be missed but his contribution will live on in Vermont and beyond.
