Green Roofs for Healthy Cities Presents Green Rooftop and Infrastructure Tours Across Toronto as part of Grey to Green Conference
Green Roofs for Healthy Cities (GRHC), is excited to announce a series of rooftop tours as part of the upcoming Grey to Green Conference. The tours will take place on June 11, offering participants a unique opportunity to explore innovative green roof installations across Toronto.
The Grey to Green Conference will continue with a series of exciting rooftop tours across Toronto with expert tour guides who have worked on each project. The East End Green Infrastructure Tour, priced at $49, includes 3 different green roofs and will take participants on a multi-stop journey to discover various typologies of green infrastructure in the city.
The tour itinerary includes the following stops:
River City 3 Green Roofs Tour - $29
This exciting green roof tour of the eco-friendly development near downtown Toronto. Explore the green façade, landscaped roof, and Woonerf Street inspired by Dutch "living yards." Witness the revitalized West Don Lands and get a birds eye view of several green roof projects nearby! Participants must be comfortable with heights and tight spaces as the roof is only accessible by ladder.
East End Green Roof Multi Stop Tour Schedule - $49 total
Part 1 - Corktown Common
Explore the vibrant park with diverse habitats nurturing a thriving bird, amphibian, and insect population. The sustainable practices preserve the waterfront public park system's capital investments while safeguarding the ecological integrity of this expansive greenspace.
Part 2 - Baseball Place - Riverside Common Park
Discover the fascinating tale of the Toronto Baseball Ground, the historic home field that hosted the city's inaugural professional baseball team, the 'Torontos'. Newly renovated with permeable pavers, this is a unique take on revitalizing space with green infrastructure elements.

This is the first privately-owned public space of its kind in Toronto - an elevated green space that stretches over Union Station's railway corridor
