The Living Architecture Monitor Launches: Fall 2021, The Social Issue
The Living Architecture Monitor, published quarterly by Green Roofs for Healthy Cities, increases awareness of the economic, social, and environmental benefits of green roofs, green walls and other forms of living architecture. We are excited to launch the Fall 2021 digital edition of the Living Architecture Monitor: The Social Issue.
The Fall Social Issue is focused on the many intersections between living architecture, community, and sustainability. This edition focuses on the social benefits of the green roof and wall industry. The industry is well known for its environmental benefits, but it also has the capacity to drastically improve the wellbeing and health of people in their communities. These benefits are critical as people have become accustomed to remaining indoors due to COVID-19. As communities work to go “back to normal”, this research is more important than ever for the mental and physical well-being of everyone. Green buildings can promote better sleep, improved performance, community and neighbourhood restoration, and overall better health. This issue’s articles discuss a variety of topics, from air cleansing green walls and trending agrihoods to performance standards and rooftop parks - please take some time to check out these articles!
