Houston Green Roof Coalition Launches to Advance Green Infrastructure Across the City

A new organization dedicated to transforming Houston’s rooftops into resilient, living infrastructure has officially launched. The Houston Green Roof Coalition unites professionals, developers, and advocates to promote green roofing systems across the city. See their website here.

Formed after a local Grey to Green conference hosted by Green Roofs for Healthy Cities, the Coalition was founded by a group of industry leaders who recognized the need for a stronger, more connected green infrastructure network in Houston. Their shared vision is to create a collaborative platform where they can work towards a strong local vision.

The Coalition will host its first public gathering on April 29, 2026, held on the green roof at the Glassell School of Art. The event will offer an opportunity for attendees to connect, get involved, share ideas, and learn more about green roof design and implementation in Houston. Click here to RSVP.

Professionals and community members interested in getting involved are encouraged to attend the upcoming meeting or explore opportunities through the Coalition’s website.
