City of San Francisco Launches New Green Infrastructure Grant Program

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) has launched a new Green Infrastructure Grant Program to fund green infrastructure retrofit projects on public and private parcels across San Francisco.

Projects can receive up to $2M to design and construct green infrastructure not required for Stormwater Management Ordinance compliance. To learn more about how the grant program can work with stormwater compliance projects, come to our upcoming grant workshops. You can RSVP for the March 7th or March 14th workshop on our website. More information about funding and eligibility requirements can be found http://www.sfwater.org/gigrants.

You can also sign up to be on our Green Infrastructure Vendor List. This list will be published on our website as a resource for grant applicants and others interested in building green infrastructure projects in San Francisco.

Improving our Sewer System and Benefiting the Community

The grant will cover the costs of design and construction of an approved stormwater management feature, such as rain gardens, permeable pavement, cisterns, and vegetated roofs. The maximum grant award is $765,000 per acre of impervious surface managed, up to $2 million in funding.

Please see the Grant Program Guidebook for a complete list of eligibility requirements and eligible costs.
