Toronto, Canada: August 9, 2018: Green Roofs for Healthy Cities (GRHC), the member-based non-profit North American industry association for green roofs and walls is pleased to announce that Matt Barmore, GRP, Vice President, Technical Sales, Greenrise Technologies has been appointed Chairman of GRHC.
“The board of GRHC is very pleased with the leadership, inclusiveness and business acumen Mr. Barmore has demonstrated and will continue to bring to the organization as our new Chairman,” said Steven W. Peck, Founder and President of GRHC.
“We’re challenged by the diversity within our industry association – designers, researchers, teachers, manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, installers, policymakers – and by the regional/local nature of our markets, product palettes, designs, and research objects. But like any diversity, it equally serves as our strength. Fully mobilized, we can together make significant impacts that raise the profile of our industry and our work. Most importantly, the final result of our combined impact is, we all believe, a greener, more breathable, less polluted, more beautiful, less stressful, and healthier world.” said Matt Barmore, Chairman of GRHC.
The past Chair, Jeffrey L. Bruce, GRP, FASLA, FASIC, LEED, President of Jeffrey L. Bruce and Company has been a key leader in the green roof and wall industry development and maturity. He was instrumental in the development of GRHC’s Integrated Water Management training program.
“I have been honored to lead GRHC as chairman over the past decade as the industry has seen significant growth and widespread adoption. I remain deeply committed to continue my support and advocacy for GRHC in an active leadership position. My sincere thanks to everyone who was a part of this extraordinary period in the emergence of living architecture. Remember your continued support is critical for us to meet the challenges ahead.” said Jeffrey L Bruce.
