Binghamton City Hall Roof Going 'Green' With REDC Money

Binghamton City Hall has come up with a very environmentally conscious way to get a much needed new roof.

The city will be awarded the money needed for a green roof consisting of storm water planters and storm water harvest.

An estimated amount of 50,000 gallons of rain and storm water will be collected monthly. The water accumulated will be used by city fire trucks and street sweepers.

Besides being green, officials say the roof has a multitude of benefits.
